6th Graders Become Megalodon Experts!

“Our lesson with Victor was very fascinating,” one student said. “We learned much about the ancient Megalodon, a colossal shark, the biggest of its kind.” The 6th grade used 3D printed Megalodon teeth to calculate the size of the Megalodon from the position and size of the tooth in the jaw. Victor, a doctoral student who studies fossil sharks at the University of Florida, came to the school’s Innovation Lab to teach the students about the ancient beast. “Victor taught us something new and had very engaging activities to help us,” according to one student. Victor left the students with a firm understanding of the prehistoric predator.
